Every prenatal visit is an unhurried hour — a respite from your day where you leave the busyness behind and create space for the real work of pregnancy. We call it the heart work: the self-reflective, deeply personal journey of becoming a mother.
We attend to your physical body, your emotional body, and your spiritual body. Great care is given not only to your clinical health but to your whole person — your story, your fears, your vision, and your transformation.
After you give birth, we honor the ancient wisdom of the cuarentena — the sacred first 40 days of rest. In our practice, once you enter your birthing time, you will not need to leave your home again until the end of your 40 days. Every visit comes to you.

What is the difference between a midwife, an OB, and a doula?
Midwives are licensed maternity care providers who care for low-risk women in an intimate practice setting, practicing a holistic model that includes in-depth counseling, shared decision-making, and a focus on the whole person. OBs are surgeons who work primarily in hospitals, with prenatal visits typically lasting 15 minutes. Doulas provide educational and labor support but are not medical providers. At Sacred Birth, you receive the clinical expertise of a licensed midwife alongside the warmth and presence of a devoted care team.
Is home birth safe?
For low-risk women with healthy pregnancies, home birth attended by a licensed midwife is a safe and evidence-supported choice. Our team carries medications, IV fluids, oxygen, and resuscitation equipment. We train and certify in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR every two years, and we have strong relationships with our community hospitals for the small percentage of births where transfer becomes necessary.
Do you accept insurance?
We are out-of-network providers. We partner with a specialized midwifery biller who will review your specific plan's maternity benefits and assist you in seeking reimbursement where applicable. Interest-free monthly payment plans are available throughout your care, and medical financing options of 2–5 years are also available.
Can I have a water birth?
Yes. We bring a birthing tub to every birth we attend. Water birth is a beautifully gentle way to welcome your baby — labor in water supports freedom of movement, natural pain relief, and a softer transition for your newborn. Many of our clients choose to labor and birth in the water.
What is the cuarentena?
The cuarentena refers to the traditional practice of 40 days of deep rest following birth. Rooted in ancient wisdom across many cultures, this sacred recovery period is central to our care model. We prefer that once you begin your birthing time, you do not leave your home until the end of your 40 days — all of your postpartum care comes to you.
Where are you located and what areas do you serve?
Our clinical home is at 230 Benmore Drive, Winter Park, FL 32792. We serve approximately a one-hour radius from our Winter Park location, including all of Orange and Seminole counties, and parts of Volusia, Brevard, Lake, and Osceola counties.
